Let’s face it: our schedules are extremely crazy year-round. No matter what time of the year it is, it always seems that we are scrambling to balance work, family, fitness, etc. And to be honest, it’s really not easy. More often than not, one (or two) of these things take the backseat, and it’s usually your fitness routine. Wouldn’t it be nice if there was an easy way to keep your health in check while managing the rest of life? What about bringing your kids along with you to workout? That’s right – bring your kids to Full Pedal. Exercising with your kids has so many benefits that it’s hard to find a reason NOT to.
It’s Family Night
When you bring the kiddos to class with you, you’re doing something together. These days, it seems as if every moment of our schedules are reserved for something, whether it’s school, your kids’ sports practice, meetings, and so on. No matter how busy you get, carving out this time to spend with your child while getting your sweat on will make for a fun way to spend time together as a family each week.
Old Habits Die Hard
Not only will you be getting to have fun with your kids, you’ll also be teaching them healthy habits! Showing them that exercise is a fun and normal thing to do will make it more likely that they will carry on with it as they grow older. Especially since childhood obesity is at an all-time high, ensuring that exercise is a positive part of their adolescence will lower their risk in the long haul.
Grass is Greener
Exercise has so many benefits, especially for kids. They are constantly growing up, after all! Statistics show that children who exercise regularly are not only at a much lower risk for diabetes and obesity, but they are also more likely to have a more positive outlook on life, consistent energy levels throughout their day, and better performance in school.
Like we said, nothing beats a good workout except exercising with your kids! We love when families come in to pedal it out together, so why not bring yours? Our minimum riding age is 12 years old, and we even offer childcare services for the younger ones! Book your bikes right here online, and we’ll see you all in the studio!
I wanted to see about getting a group pass for my children and I and Jimmy was supposed to get back to me and never did. I will be trying to come in on Monday to handle the paying for the passes.
I have always exercised with Shane, my 33-year-old son with Down’s Syndrome. He is a weightlifter, swimmer, does spin, and currently the last few months we have taken up rock climbing at Mesa Rim. Shane is 33, weighs in at 94 pounds and is my reason for keeping healthy at age 65-soon to be 66 years old!
